taking it to the streets -

hands across cass corridor

On Saturday, July 17, we kicked off the Taking it to the Streets - Hands Across Cass Corridor mosaic project. This exciting project is a partnership among Mariners Inn consumers, staff, and residents of our community. It is generously funded by the City of Detroit Parks and Recreation Department.

Participants traced their hands on small panels, then applied pieces of glass, stone, metal, ceramic, and shells. One participant brought ceramic pieces she had recovered in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.

During upcoming work sessions, the individual pieces will be incorporated into a larger mosaic that will hang on the outside wall of Mariners Inn's facility.

The next work session is Saturday, July 31 from 8:30am-12:30pm at Mariners Inn (445 Ledyard). We hope you will join us!
