Hi, I'm Petey! I live in the Transitional Housing Program here at Mariners Inn. I have a lot of friends here, and I have a special point of view on what goes on here. I'm excited to share my stories with you!

I have been so busy lately working on Mariners Inn lobby renovations I haven't had time to blog. But I did want to make sure you knew about our grand opening on May 21at 10:30am. Come down and see all the hard work I've done painting, cleaning, and placing all those little tiny tiles on the wall. I'll tell you it's not easy with paws; I keep getting glue in my fur! YUCK!! The clients did the artwork that will be on the walls.

We will also be unavailing our mosaic bench/bike rack which was funded by the Colin Hubbel Fund and supported by Canine to Five and Wheelhouse Detroit.

Best yet, Mariners Inn will be planting a Tree Of Life. This tree is in honor of all those individuals we lost in 2009. I love trees!

I can't wait to see you May 21st  at 10:30

Does anyone know what the tax deduction is for BONES?

Tomorrow is tax day and I hope everyone has donated to Mariners Inn for their 2009 charitable contributions deduction! If not please think of us in 2010. You can donate anything from cash to clothes to food; we accept it all.

Just call Doreen Webb at 313.962.9446 ext 230 for more information.

I think I'm going to just bury my bones in the backyard from now on!

Hi everyone!

Did you hear that a radio station is giving away $10,000 to a worthy cause, organization or non-profit. Mariners Inn wants to be the non-profit that wins this money. Think of all the dog biscuits I could buy!

Just go to http://www.detroitmagic.com/10grandgiveaway.aspx and vote for Mariners Inn. It’s really easy to do and I know you want me to have more biscuits, don’t you?

This week is going to be soooooo great. The weather is expected to be in the 70’s and I look forward to hanging out on the back porch in the sun. I spend a lot of time out there with all the guys at Mariners Inn and listen to them talk about their recovery. I’m not much of a talker but I can listen really well.

I love the guys that I live with and I love the community I’m in as well! Today I took a car ride (head hanging out the whole time, of course) down to Canine to Five to say hi to all my friends that were in doggie day care. I also wanted to show my support of the Michigan Humane Society by getting my picture taken by Mod 4. They offered to take pictures for a donation to MHS, how great is that!!! Here are a few pictures of me at my photo shoot today.

I think it’s really cool to support other members of your community like Canine to Five, Mod 4 and Mariners Inn do on a regular basis. Talking about support, Mariners Inn could always use your assistance. Check out our web page for ways you can help.

I thought I had a good idea. I wanted to be a part of Mariners Inn 2010 Golf Classic. So I tried out to be a caddy. Boy was that a mistake! I found out I'm not very good at carrying a golf bag, you're not supposed to chase the balls when they are hit (who knew?), and visors taste really bad! Oh well, I hope you will come on June 14.

Maybe I will make an appearance for the shotgun start!

It was sure nice that all those people came to see me during the cultivation brunch last week. Even though they didn't bring me a doggy bag of leftover snacks! I hope everyone is making plans to come to Mariners golf outing June 14th. I wish I could go but I would just chase the balls and jump into the water all day long so I have to stay at Mariners. Look for my upcoming posts on Twitter as I spend my days trying the doggy day care I go to with Shawn I. He's my really good friend here at Mariners Inn. He's the one who has taught me all my really neat tricks as well as how to walk good on a leash and how to sit for a treat. Well that's all for now, I see a squirrel that needs chasing....
