Mariners Inn is licensed by the State of Michigan as a provider of alcohol and highway safety education. This means that a man or woman of any age who has been convicted of operating a vehicle under the influence of liquor and mandated by the court to receive alcohol-related education can now attend required courses at a respected non-profit treatment center in Detroit's inner city.

Art Therapy - Supplies Needed!

The Mariners Inn Art Therapy program aims to use the creative arts as a mechanism for healing. Art Therapy helps people express hidden emotions; reduces stress, fear, and anxiety; and provides a sense of freedom. Some studies have also shown that the act of creation influences brain wave patterns and the chemicals released by the brain. Art Therapy has been used with substance use, eating disorders, sexual abuse, physical disabilities, emotional impairments, and chronic health issues.

Allen Ledyard Honored at Mariners Inn

Mariners Inn gratefully announces that we have received an honorarium in the amount of $10,000 from the Flinn Foundation in memory of former Mariners Inn board member and longtime supporter Allen Ledyard.

Calling All Mentors

RYPP Mentoring Program

Residential Youth Prevention Program (RYPP)

Mariners Inn is seeking men to mentor the young men in our Residential Youth Prevention Program.  Many of the participants don’t have positive relationships with the men in their lives or communities.  Mentors can assist them in navigating work and life, give good advice based on their own life experiences and provide an opportunity for the young men to learn how to effectively communicate.
