Mariners Inn
                  - A Shelter and Treatment Center for the Homeless

How Does the Residential Program Work?

The Residential program provides intensive residential treatment that features:

  • Residential services and three nutritious meals a day
  • Individual therapy (our client-to-counselor ratio is ten-to-one)
  • Lectures and group therapy classes in "life skills" such as parenting, nutrition and personal organization
  • Spiritual awareness (Mariners Inn programs are non-denominational)
  • Educational assistance for clients working to earn high school equivalency diplomas
  • Vocational assessments to facilitate a more focused job search and employment readiness program inclusive of referrals for those who need them.

The program also meets the specific needs of clients who are HIV-positive.
Mariners Inn clients are referred by the Department of  Health and Wellness Promotions Bureau of Substance Abuses’ Access Assessment and Referral Service (AARS) , community organizations, families and friends, but admission is voluntary: each man (18 or older) must be motivated to pursue treatment and participate in our program.

·  Mariners Inn is not a detoxification center; clients must be sober at the time of admission and must remain drug and alcohol free throughout their stay here.
