The Art of Transformations

An art exhibition that included works by featured Mariners Inn artists as well as art created in our acclaimed art therapy program. The work on display at the Detroit Bolls Family YMCA was created through the Mariners Inn art therapy program. Robin Kelleher our art therapist intended for the exhibit to show the humanity and beauty of our clients. “I really hope this helps people see them differently,” she says.

Mariners Inn Awarded $3,500 Beautification Grant

Mariners Inn, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Grosse Pointe, collaborated on a beautification project to clean up and enhance the external grounds of the agency, Saturday, June 29th.  Despite a few sprinkles and ominous clouds, community volunteers, Rotary members, residents of Mariners Inn and staff proved that "many hands do indeed make quick work".

Help Us Get To the NA World Convention in Philadelphia!

This fall, August 29th - September 1st, Mariners Inn will facilitate a trip to Philadelphia so that our clients and alumni can participate in this years World convention of Narcotics Anonymous. Our men have attended the event in the past and acknowledge the value and benefits that the convention has on their recovery. In order to attend this event this year, the clients, alumni and staff of Mariners Inn will need to raise approximately $10,000! We will need your help in making this happen.

Check-out our New Residential Youth Prevention Program

RYPP is an ongoing program that will house up to twenty (20) youth ages 18 – 24. The men will have the option to select between groups, class and therapy sessions Monday – Friday between 9am and 5pm.  There will also be the following activities available based on need and interest:

Healthy reactions to matters outside my control

I still experience strong emotions when people (landlords, relatives, employers, friends) contact me about a status or question about one of my sons. There’s a lot of collateral damage floating around out there and it pops up from time to time. The reality is their drug addiction left untreated progressed to typical outcomes: irresponsibility, vagabond lifestyles, and, in some instances, drug related crime. As a result, I’m left standing as the only viable source for information – apparently.
