How Does The Program Work?

Alcohol Highway Safety Classes

Mariners Inn is licensed by the State of Michigan as a provider of alcohol and highway safety education. This means that a man or woman of any age who has been convicted of operating a vehicle under the influence of liquor and mandated by the court to receive alcohol-related education can now attend required courses at a respected non-profit treatment center in Detroit's inner city.

Mariners Inn offers Level 1 and Level 2 Alcohol Highway Safety classes. Classes are provided by highly qualified counselors to those who need to complete them. For more information and to sign up, call Susan Clark at 313-962-9446, ext. 245.

Classes are offered the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month, excluding holidays. Both classes (levels 1 and 2) begin at 8:30 am. Level 1 ends at 12:30 pm and Level 2 ends at 2:30 pm. The fee is $55 for Level 1 and $90 for Level 2. Payment may be made in cash, certified check, or money order. We do not take personal checks as payment for classes.

In order to receive credit for the course, an individual must arrive on time and participate for the entire time scheduled.

Comprehensive Assessments

Mariners Inn also provides comprehensive bio-psychosocial substance abuse assessments to individuals. These are offered the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. The cost is $100. As for the classes, payment may be made in cash, certified check, or money order (personal checks not accepted). Please call Susan Clark at 313-962-9446, ext. 245 for more information and to schedule an appointment.
