On Wednesday, July 20, 2011 the MotorCity Casino Hotel Helping Hands group prepared and served lunch to the consumers and staff of Mariners Inn. Helping Hands is comprised of employees of the MotorCity Casino. With the guidance of Chef John Cortez, barbequed chicken, hot dogs, and hamburgers were prepared and a delicious meal was enjoyed by all.
We would like to thank the following members of the Helping Hands Group: Sabrina Burns, Dave Denomme, Chuck Cole, Chef John Cortez, Pamela Harris, Susie Stokes, Yvonne Lowe, Sutara Anderson, July Cluff, Bernice McKinley, Paul Wochrichio, Christine Liniarski, and Jacci Woods.
Two resident artists displayed their art work at DTE during the week of April 25. A mosaic picture of President Obama created out of dominos was also on display. Mariners Inn would like to thank DTE for their community support and leadership. Check out the pics below!
The men of Mariners Inn will be attending the Narcotics Anonymous Convention at the Hyatt Regency in Dearborn from April 21 to April 24. Admission is $8 per person. This is a small price to pay for the benefits the men receive from attending the event!
Please consider sponsoring one or more of our men so they can attend.

Do you shop at Kroger? Enroll in Kroger Community Rewards and sign up to support Mariners Inn every time you shop. If you enroll before April 2011, you will have to re-enroll during April 2011 to continue supporting Mariners Inn through 2011-2012. Thank you for your help.
Mariners Inn consumers and students from Wayne State University used dominos to create a mosaic of President Obama. The theme of the project is “Yes We Can”. The men picked this theme because they have learned that they can work to achieve success, overcome addiction, be productive, and lead the lives they want to lead.
On February 21, 2011, Mariners Inn staff had the opportunity to tour the Local 4 news station and watched the live broadcast at noon.
The tour was hosted by Local 4 anchor Andrew Humphrey, who had donated this experience to the 2010 River Rhythm auction. Mariners Inn volunteer Richard Bond was the high bidder and invited staff members Na'imah Daniel and Robert Huston to accompany him.
Thank you to Andrew Humphrey for donating the tour to our auction, and to Richard Bond for sharing this experience with Mariners Inn staff.
