“The Straits” is a collection of poems featuring Mariners Inn poets in recovery. The book came out of Mariners Inn’s poetry group, which began in early 2016. The group is facilitated by well-known Detroit poet Joel Fluent Greene. Clients gather weekly to share their work, discuss different types of poetry, and cultivate their craft. Purchasing a book helps keep the poetry group going and allows the poets to prepare for a Vol. 2 to share in the future.
