Mayor Duggan sits down with Local 4’s Devin Scillian on Flashpoint to discuss the vibrant future he envisions for our city. Listen as he highlights The Anchor at Mariners Inn!
Saving lives is our mission. We recognize that our fortunate position to do so would not be possible without the unwavering support of the community, our friends, donors, and stakeholders. We remain steadfastly committed to providing the type of services, resources, compassionate professionalism, expertise, and love to all we serve.
We enthusiastically invite you to join us on this altruistic journey to make our vision a reality.
There is no greater feeling that purposeful giving.

Mariners Inn is taking a giant leap forward that will enable us to address the affordable housing crisis for formerly homeless low-income men and women.
In September 2019, Mariners Inn formed a building partnership with Cinnaire Corporation to initiate an $25 million campaign, which allows for a transformative construction project that will become a long-term solution for many homeless in Wayne County.
Together, Mariners Inn and Cinnaire are working to design and complete a 65,500 square foot state of the art facility in Detroit on the Corner of Ledyard Street and Cass Avenue in Detroit. The new facility, to be known as The Anchor, will include 44-units of fully furnished permanent supportive housing, 40 fully furnished recovery housing units, private counseling and case management spaces, group therapy spaces, computer lab, exercise areas, family gathering areas, and welcoming outdoor areas. Additionally, up to four retail stores will be located on the ground floor of the new building.
Once the building is completed, The Anchor will be part of a nurturing campus situated on one city block. Our goal is to transform the way local homeless people suffering from substance use disorder are cared for, valued and supported, while also revitalizing a downtown area.
By adding affordable permanent supportive housing to our continuum of services, our consumers who require regular, but not around the clock, services will gain easy access to core programming that is consistent with each individual’s stage in the change process. Consumers will be able to readily access additional treatment services when they are ready to do so and staff can monitor treatment responses more easily.

Our capital campaign supports more than just a new facility for Mariners Inn and the people who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford a home in Detroit. It’s a promise to our community that Mariners Inn will be around for the long haul, providing innovative new programs, partnerships, and interventions that will treat substance abuse and help end homelessness in our community.
